Master Programs

The postgraduate education of BJUT adheres to the research-oriented, supervisor-guided, innovation-driven, structure-optimized, quality-guaranteed and service-upgraded principles. At the same time, it pushes ahead the reform of postgraduate cultivation mechanism, making positive exploration and practices by providing platforms in innovative talents cultivation. After more than 30 years of development, it has finally developed a postgraduate educational system combing various disciplines such as science, economics, management, liberal arts and law with a strong focus on engineering.

Program Duration

Academic master degree students are expected to complete their studies within three years but approval may be requested to shorten the period to 2.5 years or lengthen the period to four years (including any period of absence with leave).

Professional master degree students are expected to complete their studies within two or three years but approval may be requested to lengthen the period to three or four years (including any period of absence with leave) .

At least 26 credits are required to complete the academic master degree course of study and should be completed in the first academic year.

At least 32 credits are required to complete the professional master degree course of study and should be completed in the first academic year.

Arrangements of Dissertation

  1. A master’s thesis proposal should be completed before the end of the third semester. Mid-term evaluation of the thesis progress is completed early towards end of the fourth semester or beginning of the fifth semester. Students can submit their thesis one year after the proposal has been approved.
  2. Students studying for a Master degree must write a thesis paper (or a professional paper). Thesis papers by students of different majors could be academic research, scientific and technical reports, professional investigations or engineering reports. The report should reflect the degree applicant’s ability in scientific research or combining of the basic theory and solving practical problems with expertise.
  3. Master’s thesis papers can be written in Chinese or English. Abstracts for foreign students’ thesis should be written in Chinese. International students must have the thesis approved and accredited to BJUT.

Entry Requirements

  1. Applicant must be a non-Chinese resident, holding a valid foreign passport or international identity certificate for over 4 years and must have lived in that country for over 2 years in the past 4 years.
  2. Applicant should be in good mental and physical condition.
  3. Applicant should be over 18 years old.
  4. Degree or diploma:

Applicant for master program, should provide a bachelor degree or above certificate;

  1. Language requirements:new HSK4 or above
  • Note: Applicant who does not meet the Chinese language requirement should take a one-year preparatory program offered by BJUT and can only proceed with the degree study after pass the language requirements.

Tuition Fee and Application Fee

  1. Application fee:415 Yuan
  2. Tuition fee: 23,000yuan/year
