Profile of Beijing University of Technology Education Foundation

Beijing University of Technology Education Foundation (BUTEF) is a non-public fund established and registered on October 16, 1994 with the consent of the Beijing Education Administrative Department and the approval of the Beijing Authority of Social Organization. It was recognized as a charitable organization in 2017. In recent years, it has been qualified to be tax-deductible for charitable donations.

The aim of the foundation: for charitable and not-for-profit activities; to unite organizations and individuals at home and abroad who are enthusiastic about the development of BJUT to provide financial support for the construction and development of BJUT.

The foundation is open to voluntary donations from enterprises, social organizations and individuals at home and abroad. No matter how much the donation is, the foundation will incorporate and file the list of donors in the donation roster for commemoration, and showcase the charitable conduct via campus media. Some donation projects, such as infrastructure construction and scholarships, can be named after the donor or the name designated by the donor through negotiation if the amount of donation reaches a certain threshold. Enterprises, institutions, offices, organizations and individuals at home and abroad who donate within the scope permitted by national laws, regulations and rules and regulations of the university may be given the priority to the use of high-quality resources such as teaching and scientific research of the university, as well as the rights to carry out cooperation and co-construction.

The fund is largely used to support the education of BJUT to improve teaching facilities, including buildings, instruments and equipment, books and materials; to award outstanding students and excellent teachers; to fund basic research, teaching research and book publishing; to assist teachers to go abroad for further study and to participate in international academic cooperation and international academic conferences. Donations for specific projects can be used subject to the wishes and suggestions of donors.

The fund from Special Donation for BJUT 60th Anniversary (specifically, 60 yuan per share and one or more subscription are available) will be used to develop and build BJUT. Your contribution is awaited. BJUT cannot prosper without the dedication of you alumni!

Donation Project #2: Alumni Donation Themed “Revisit BJUT” by Claiming Chinese Parasol Tree

That year, Chinese parasol trees witnessed our gathering and recorded your hardworking years; Today, we revisit campus and caress its leaves the way we hold hands with old friends. We carefully selected 40 Chinese parasol trees on the campus (each tree takes 10,000 yuan to be claimed and donation method and location of trees is available through the contact information in the end) to call on alumni to make small donations to the beautiful campus with kindness.

Donation Project #3: Donation Themed “I Love My Alma Mater” by Claiming Campus Bench

“Starting Dream from BJUT, Love to Alma Mater Last Forever!” We appeal to alumni to make small donations (each bench takes 3,000 yuan to be claimed, and donation method and location of benches is available through the contact information in the end) and leave your care for the alma mater and your wishes for the younger students.

Donation Project #4: Alumni Donation Themed “Most Beautiful Season” by Claiming Ginkgo Tree

In autumn, the Ginkgo Boulevard on the campus is embracing the most beautiful season when yellow leaves pile up under the bright sunshine. We have carefully selected 110 ginkgo trees on the campus (each tree takes 3,000 yuan to be claimed, and the donation method and location of trees is available through the contact information in the end). We are looking forward to small donations from you alumni to maintain alma mater’s forest.

Donation Project #5: “I Donate a Book for Younger Students” – BJUT Alumni Donation for the Library

In the library, you have spent time reading and studying. We have set up a special donation fund for books by BJUT alumni.The amount of the project is planned to be 1 million yuan. donation method is available through the contact information in the end. BJUT alumni, just donate a book for the new library and contribute a little bit to the development of the university.

We hereby vow that:

1. All alumni donations will be used to support the construction and development of the university. The donation is received and managed by the Beijing University of Technology Education Foundation, and the use of funds is strictly following the articles of association and relevant regulations. We will regularly update the donation and its use to alumni.

2. The education foundation of the university is qualified to be tax-deductible for charitable donations. According to theCharity law of the people's Republic of China, property donated by natural persons, legal persons and other organizations for charity activities shall be granted with tax incentives. According to Article 6 of theIndividual Income Tax Law of the People’s Republic of China (2018 Amendment), where an individual donates his or her income to public welfare charities such as education, poverty alleviation and poverty relief, the part whose donation amount does not exceed 30% of the taxpayer’s declared taxable income can be deducted from his taxable income; where the State Council stipulates that the donation on charities shall be fully tax-deductible, such provisions shall prevail.
