BDIC Students Successfully Completed Their Winter Program in Ireland

30 freshmen from the Beijing-Dublin International College went to Dublin, Ireland between Jan. 17th and 26th and participated in activities including cross-cultural communication, professional learning and company visits.

Unlike previous groups, during this 2016 winter program, students completed their tasks independently, without teacher accompaniments. They carefully designed and implemented the visits successfully, making this tour wonderful and exciting. During the ten days, students toured Ireland and (University College Dublin) UCD campus in groups. Activities included sightseeing cultural relics and natural scenic spots. Through this program, students improved their knowledge of Irish culture, and learnt how to live independently and work collaboratively in a culture different from their own.

The students spent time on the UCD campus, walking into classrooms and labs and participated in a professional recognition course with local students. They visited the Irish branch of the Huawei Company.

During the program, students applied their English language abilities in their daily activities, and impressed UCD’s staff and teachers as a well-educated group. This set up a good base for the college students in the future to go abroad or pursue their Master’s degrees in UCD.
