From November 3rd to November 6th 2015, the 11th International Conference on Application-specific Integrated Circuits (2015 ASICON) was held in Chengdu, China. Under the meticulous guidance of Vice Professor Jin Dongyue and Professor Zhang Wanrong, Wang Xiao, a graduate student from the College of Electronic Information & Control Engineering (CEICE) in BJUT, won the Best Student Paper Award (Paper Title: Novel Superjunction Collector Design of Power SiGe HBTs for High fT´BVCEO´b Product). This award is also attributed to her strength and excellent performance. Chen-Ming Hu, Chairman of this conference, and world-famous in the field of microelectronics, and Professor Ting-Ao Tang, from Fudan University awarded the certificate and scholarship to her.
This conference was co-hosted and organized by IEEE Beijing Branch, Fudan University, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC), Talent Exchange Center, Ministry of Industry & Information Technology (MIITEC), IEEE SSCS Shanghai Chapter (SSCS), IET Shanghai Network (IET) and Chinese Institute of Electronics (CIE). 348 excellent academic papers from 15 countries and regions such as the United States, Japan and South Korea were submitted, including 205 presentations and 143 research posters, which fully displayed the latest progress in the microelectronic field of VLSI circuit, devices and process design and manufacturing. The whole process included student applications, recommendations by the chairs of related branches, and deliberations by the Paper Review Committee. Finally, 10 papers were selected and received the Best Student Paper Awards.
Fourteen faculty members and students from BJUT, led by the Deputy Secretary of the College Party Committee, attended this conference. Among the 14 attendees, eight of them made presentations and four displayed research posters. This was a good opportunity for them to have academic interaction with experts, scholars and technicians from home and abroad. The achievements of CEICE in BJUT were fully confirmed and recognized by both domestic and oversea experts.
