On Aug 28th, Science & Technology Counselor Ata Ur Rahman in Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Beijing visited BJUT. Chairman of the BJUT Council Xie Hui, President Liu Gonghui and Vice President Wu Bin met with the delegation.
Chairman Xie Hui extended his welcome to the visiting Pakistani delegation. With the development of the Belt and Road and China–Pakistan Economic Corridor, the two nations are facing more opportunities for cooperation. Chairman Xie Hui noted that BJUT will collaborate closely with the Pakistani government and institutions in technical innovation and talent cultivation. Counselor Ata Ur Rahman strongly agreed with Chairman Xie Hui and hoped to strengthen cooperation in these areas.
Counselor Ata Ur Rahman expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome. He noted that BJUT is the first university he visited since assuming the role of Science & Technology Counselor last month. Thus he attached great importance to the friendly relationship with BJUT. In recent years, BJUT has strengthened communication and cooperation with universities in Pakistan, increasing bilateral visits and agreements among these universities. As for building Knowledge Garden and University Union Plan that Pakistan suggested, President Liu Gonghui expressed his approval and support. Moreover, he voiced some constructive suggestions for China- Pakistan Engineering University of Science and Technology
Vice President Wu Bin pointed out that under the background of The Belt and Road and China–Pakistan Economic Corridor, BJUT will seize the opportunity and deepen the cooperation with related institutions in Pakistan.
Counselor Ata ur Rahman highly valued these constructive suggestions and expressed his opinions regarding technical innovation and education exchange between China and Pakistan. As the Science & Technology Counselor in the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Beijing, he would like to see the substantive cooperation with BJUT in the field of engineering and technology including talent cultivation, technological innovation & research, technology transfer and professional training.
