At the invitation of Wang Hong，Director of the Beijing Intellectual Property Office (BIPO), Professor Nie Zuoren, Vice President of BJUT as well as Dean of BIPO, held a meeting with the Executive Dean of the World Intellectual Property Office (WIPO) Sherif Saadallah on November 9th.
WIPO which was founded in 1998 has played an important role in the activities of strengthening the application of the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) System by many countries. It has implemented interdisciplinary IPR education such as opening various general and specialized courses of IPR and has highlighted the connections between IPR and trade, innovation, health, applied sciences, IT and creative industries.
Director Wang Hong delivered the welcome speech. He highlighted that Beijing, as the scientific and technological innovation center, played an important part in cultivating high-level IPR talents. He hoped that BIPO and WIPO could cooperate with each other through thoughtful understanding between each other in the future.
Vice President Nie Zuoren gave an overview of the work of BJUT and BIPO and has invited Mr. Sherif Saadallah to visit BJUT to further promote their cooperation in talent cultivation. Mr. Sherif Saadallah introduced the major areas of WIPO and its cooperation with universities worldwide, and also expressed his willingness to cooperate with BJUT.
This meeting is a first strong step for BIPO to move toward cultivation of high-level global talents.
