Personal statement

Li Jian-Rong “Jeff”, professor and doctoral supervisor, got his Ph.D. Degree from Nankai University in 2005. Before 2008, he had worked as an assistant professor in Nankai University. In 2004, he was also a research assistant at Hong Kong University of Science & Technology. From 2008 to 2009, he has been a postdoctoral research associate, first at Miami University and later at Texas A&M University. From 2010 he has been an assistant research scientist at Texas A&M University same university. Since 2012, he has been a full professor at Beijing University of Technology. His research interest focuses on new porous materials (such as MOFs) for chemical engineering, energy and environmental science. He has been an author/co-author of 260 papers (> 25000 citations) published in peer-reviewed journals.Honorably, he has been selected as a Highly Cited Researcher (Clarivate Analytics) from 2017 to 2020. In addition, he has contributed to 6 book chapters and filed 1 USP, 1 EP, and 45 Chinese patents.
