Beijing Institute of Smart City

Beijing Institute of Smart City was established on November 26, 2014. It is a new interdisciplinary secondary teaching and research institution affiliated to Beijing University of Technology. Its main responsibilities are: facing the major needs of Beijing's economic and social development and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development, undertaking the applied research ofsmart city, mobile Internet, Internet of Things, big data and intelligence; to develop common key technologies such as hardware, carry out interdisciplinary integration and collaborative innovation, undertake research and design consultation on master planning, policies, standards and construction operation modes of smart cities, as well as research and technical services on data infrastructure, common technology platform and industrial public service platform, and promote Beijing City's relevant industrial chain coordinates innovation and development; undertakes the training of high-level talents related to smart cities.

The development goal of Beijing Institute of Smart City is to build a combination of government, industry, education and research through innovation of scientific research system and mechanism, guided by the major needs of Beijing's economic and social development and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development, based on applied basic research, guided by planning and architecture research and supported by platform service research. The Center for Cooperative Innovation Research and the Smart City Smart Bank will enhance the innovative ability of information science, promote the coordinated innovation development of the new generation of information technology and related industry chains in Beijing, and make positive contributions to the development of Beijing's high-end industries and the strategic positioning of the capital city.
