Over 80 of BJUT’s international students, coming from more than 10 countries, watched the popular animated film Ne Zha 2 and visited the Beijing Ceramic Art Museum to experience the intangible cultural heritage of tie-dyeing-activities that allowed them to appreciate the charm of traditional Chinese culture and gain a deeper understanding of China.
Ne Zha 2, a recent original film based on traditional Chinese culture, impressed the international students with its exquisite production, touching story, and deep cultural significance. The students expressed their love for the film after the screening.

Tie-dyeing is an ancient Chinese textile dyeing technique. The students learned hands-on processes such as folding, tying, dyeing, oxidizing, and washing. By experimenting with different tying techniques and dyeing intensities, they created surprising and unique colors. Through this experience, they gained a deeper understanding of the historical heritage of tie-dyeing and its innovative applications in modern life.
The students remarked that through this cultural activity, they developed a deeper appreciation of China’s traditional craftsmanship as well as its modern technology and art. They also felt the energy and passion of today’s China.
