Du Xiuli, a professor from the College of Architecture and Civil Engineering at Beijing University of Technology, and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, was recognized as a National Role Model Worker.

Mao Shengcheng, a researcher at the College of Materials Science and Engineering, and Professor Ma Nan from the School of Information Science and Technology were honored as being two of Beijing's role model workers. Zhang Qiang, an alumnus of the College of Architecture and Civil Engineering, also received this honor.
