Beijing University of Technology (BJUT) recently hosted a lecture themed "Dialogues with Youth, Progress with China", where Professor Marie-Luce Chevalier, a Belgian researcher from the Institute of Geology, Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences (CAGS), talked about her work on seismic hazards on the "Roof of the World". This event is part of the University's lecture series featuring foreign experts who were honored with the Chinese Government Friendship Award. Such experts are invited to share their inspiring stories of collaboration, deep friendship, and joint progress with China, as well as their outstanding contributions to advancing China's scientific and technological development, talent cultivation, and modernization in their respective fields.

Among the attendees were representatives from the Beijing Overseas Talents Center, the Minzu University of China (MUC), and Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU). The lecture was co-chaired by the head of BJUT International Office and Hong Kong, Macao & Taiwan Affairs Office, and Professor Mark Levine from the MUC School of Foreign Studies, who is also the initiator of the lecture series.

Professor Mark Levine, a friendship awardee, has, for two decades, been committed to enabling the world to gain a more authentic and comprehensive understanding of China, to promote understanding. In addition to outlining the background and purpose of the lecture series, he encouraged Chinese and foreign youth to embrace cross-border friendship and cooperation, to help connect China with the world, and to play their part in building a community with a shared future for mankind.
