Recently, the international English-language journal Smart Construction, sponsored by Beijing University of Technology, was successfully selected for the Phase II High-Starting-Point New Journal Program of the 2025 "China Science and Technology Journal Excellence Action Plan." This achievement marks the University's new progress in building a high-level academic exchange platform and advancing the dissemination of cutting-edge research.

Smart Construction is an international English-language journal formally launched by BJUT in December 2023 and jointly published with ELSP. The journal is co-edited by four academicians: Professor Du Xiuli, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Professor Hao Hong, Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technological Sciences & Engineering; Professor Billie F. Spencer, Jr., Foreign Member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and Foreign Member of the Polish Academy of Sciences; and Professor Zhao Yangang, Foreign Member of the Engineering Academy of Japan. The inaugural issue was released in May 2024, and the journal was indexed by Scopus in August 2025, demonstrating its strong international academic influence and development potential.
