As the sun and moon alternate and the years unfold, a new chapter begins. As the New Year's bell tolls and the first light of dawn in 2026 appears, Beijing University of Technology embarks on a new journey of endeavor. On this occasion of bidding farewell to the old and ushering in the new, on behalf of the University, we sincerely extend our greetings and New Year's blessings to all faculty, staff, retired colleagues, alumni around the world, and friends from all walks of life who care for and support the development of our University.
The year 2025 marked the concluding year of the 14th Five-Year Plan and was crucial to laying a solid foundation for a successful start to the 15th Five-Year Plan. It was also the 65th anniversary of the founding of BJUT. Over the past year, under the strong leadership of the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, all members of BJUT have adhered to Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as the guiding principle, fully and thoroughly implementing the guiding principles of the 20th CPC National Congress and all subsequent plenary sessions of the 20th Central Committee, and the National Education Conference. We comprehensively implemented Plan for Building a Powerful Country in Education (2024-2035), carried out the directives given by Secretary Yin Li during his inspection of the University, and strengthened the Party's comprehensive leadership over the University's work. We also carried out solid in-depth learning and education to thoroughly implement the Central Government's Eight-Point Decision on Improving Work Style, upholding the integrated development of education, science, technology, and talent. We seized the historic opportunity presented by the construction of the new Fangshan Campus and united efforts for reform and innovation, contributing to accelerating the construction of BJUT as a world-class university, supporting the building of a strong country in education, and promoting the capital's high-quality development.
In 2025, we embraced the overall strategies of national and capital development, demonstrating new commitments through dedicated service. In the commemorative activities marking the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the Global Anti-Fascist War, our faculty and students engaged with a profound sense of combined responsibility and enthusiasm, providing comprehensive support and contributing significantly to the successful completion of these events. BJUT students, as the vanguard of the honor guard formation, marched in step across Tiananmen Square to receive the inspection. 84 faculty members and students took part in the choir in the Square, performing with deep emotion seven classic songs including On the Songhua River, On the Taihang Mountains, and Defend the Yellow River. 48 teachers and student volunteers provided full support for the representatives of the Beijing education system attending the ceremony on-site, earning widespread acclaim; the University's creative team fully participated in the Square's design competition; their sculptural work was displayed in the thematic exhibition "For National Liberation and World Peace" at the Museum of the War of the Chinese People's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, and is now part of the Museum's permanent collection; faculty members of the University served as core creative team members for the "Justice Must Prevail" cultural gala held at the Great Hall of the People, and as executive directors for its fifth segment and finale, bringing the event to a climax. From service support to dedicated participation, from performing on stage to creative work behind the scenes, BJUTers demonstrated, through their comprehensive contributions and outstanding performances, their commitment to supporting the overall national and capital development, and the spirit of the era.

Seven full-time national-level leading talents were recruited. We signed agreements on deep cooperation with five elite industrial concerns and top experts, simultaneously enhancing the quality and structure of our talent introduction. Three professors were honored as "Beijing Scholars," one team was selected for the Ministry of Education's "National Huang Danian-Style Teacher Team," one individual was recognized as a "National Advanced Worker," and two individuals were named "Advanced Workers of Beijing," thereby providing a solid foundation for the University's high-quality development.
In 2025, we devoted ourselves to advancing the construction of the new campus, reaching a new milestone in the University's development. With the strong support and care of the Beijing Municipal Committee and the Municipal Government, the new Fangshan campus was successfully incorporated into Beijing's 2025 "Three Hundred" Key Projects Initiative. Construction officially started in August 2025, less than six months after the program was approved.
