On May 20, a delegation of 20 representatives from Peru's University of Piura, Maria Alvarado Lima High School, and other educational institutions, visited Beijing University of Technology. Senior officials from the International Office, the College of Mechanical and Energy Engineering, the College of Chemistry and Life Science, the College of Economics and Management, and the College of Artificial Intelligence participated in the symposium.

The director of the International Office welcomed the delegation and introduced the University's history and educational achievements. She said that this year marks the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Peru, and expressed the hope that this exchange would serve as an opportunity to advance practical cooperation, deliver tangible benefits to faculty and students of both universities, and inject new momentum into the deepening of friendship between China and Peru.

William Zapata Jimenez, member of the Board of Trustees of the University of Piura and foreign director of the Confucius Institute, expressed his gratitude for the warm reception extended by BJUT and provided an overview of his university's development. He expressed his willingness to further expand the scope of cooperation and the advancement of the strategic partnership between the two universities to higher levels and broader areas.

Representatives attending the meeting introduced in turn the development of their related disciplines and their practices in international cooperation. The two sides exchanged views on topics such as joint talent cultivation, collaborative curriculum development mechanisms, and the coordinated development of disciplines, laying the groundwork for further practical cooperation.

The delegation visited the Folk Art Museum of the College of Art and Design to deepen their understanding of traditional Chinese folk customs and culture, as well as that of ancient Chinese designs, sciences and arts. They then visited the High School Attached to Beijing University of Technology, where they gained deeper insights into the school's practical experience in education for technological innovation, the cultivation of international talent, and cultural exchanges between Chinese and international youth.
