Personal Statement

Yangzhou Chen is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the College of Artificial Intelligence and Automation in Faculty of Information Technology. He received his Ph.D. degree in 1994 from the St. Petersburg University in Russian. From 1996 to 1998, he held a postdoctoral position in the School of Astronautics, Harbin Institute of Technology, China. Then he joined Beijing University of Technology in 1998. In 2005, he was a visiting professor with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Toronto, Canada.

He has published more than200 academic papers and gotten more than 20 authorized Chinese invention patents. He won two Ministerial Science and Technology Progress Awards. In 2004 got Beijing OutstandingTeacher Award by Beijing Government.
