Cultivation Characteristics

This is a newly established major, with its first cohort of students having been admitted in 2021. It is designed to cultivate professional talent in the frontier fields of the life sciences and pharmaceuticals. The program focuses oncultivating well-educated innovative talents who have a comprehensive knowledge of analytical chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry, and chemical biology, as well as practical skills in modern molecular science and engineering, human health and medicine, molecular recognition, and imaging analysis, and who, in addition, have the ability to solve the complex problems of multidisciplinary cross-integration, have a broad understanding of industry, are good at independent learning and cooperative communication, and have a strong capability for sustainable development. The discipline is supported by high-level teaching and research innovation teams within Beijing municipal universities. The program is built upon first-class teaching and research platforms, providing a diverse, high-level, and international learning environment for the cultivation of well-educated innovative talent.

Teaching Resources

The related disciplines of Chemistry, and Biology and Biochemistry, have both entered the top 1% globally in the ESI rankings. The Chemistry discipline also ranks among the top 400 in the QS World University Rankings. BJUT has the Beijing Key Laboratory of Environmental and Viral Oncology, aprovincial and ministerial-level research cooperation base, and participates in the joint development of the Beijing Key Laboratory of Green Catalysis and Separation.
