Cultivation Characteristics

This program is recognized as a Beijing Municipal Brand and Featured Major. It was accredited for Engineering Education in 2014 and selected in 2019 as one of the first National First-Class Undergraduate Major Construction Sites. The program boasts national-level teaching teams, outstanding teachers, and high-level teaching and research innovation teams from Beijing municipal universities. It has received numerous accolades, including national-level first-class courses and Beijing high-quality courses. It has won the First Prize of the Beijing Municipal Teaching Achievement Award three times. The major is supported by multiple national, provincial and ministerial-level teaching and research platforms, such as the National Engineering Laboratory for Advanced Municipal Wastewater Treatment and Reuse Technology, and the Innovation and Talent Introduction Base for Environmental Pollution Control in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region. Emphasizing the cultivation of abilities in interdisciplinary integration, practice and innovation, the program provides diverse, high-level, and international teaching resources and platforms to cultivate top-tier innovative talents.

Teaching Resources

Led by outstanding members of the Communist Party of China and academicians, and supported by national and Beijing-level teaching teams and outstanding teachers, the program is built upon multiple national, provincial, ministerial-level teaching and research platforms. It offers two national-level first-class courses, two Beijing high-quality courses, one Beijing demonstration course on ideological and political education, and several demonstration bases for industry-education integration. The program focuses on water pollution control, air pollution control, solid waste resource utilization, and carbon reduction. It aligns closely with major national strategies, continually tackling challenges and making progress through innovation. Its research results have been recognized with four Second Prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award and the National Technology Invention Award, as well as the First Prize for Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award, among other provincial and ministerial-level honors.
