Cultivation Characteristics
The Computer Science and TechnologyHonors Class) is a national First-Class Major and a Beijing Municipal Brand Major. It is supported by a first-level discipline doctoral program and a postdoctoral research station in computer science and technology, as well as a national-level teaching team in computer software, National Teaching Excellence Award winners, and Outstanding Teachers of Higher Education of Beijing, who together form an exceptional faculty team. The program places strong emphasis on cultivating students' system-level thinking and engineering practice capabilities. Graduates gain solid computational thinking, system capabilities, and strong academic and engineering literacy, enabling them to analyze, design, develop, and apply complex computing systems by integrating mathematics, the natural sciences, and the fundamental and specialized knowledge of computer science and technology. The major enjoys an excellent reputation among employers, and consistently attracts top-ranking students applying for the course.

The major is supported by the Beijing Higher Education Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center and the Beijing University of Technology-Intel Embedded Joint Lab. It holds a doctoral degree authorization in the first-level discipline of Computer Science and Technology, along with a postdoctoral research station. In 2020, the major ranked in the top 1% globally in the ESI subject rankings. The major was accredited for engineering education twice, in 2017 and 2024, and was approved as a National First-Class Undergraduate Major Construction Site in 2019.
