Cultivation Characteristics
This major is internationally accredited for engineering education and recognized as a "National First-Class Undergraduate Major Construction Site." It ranked first among B+ rated majors in the 2024 evaluation by Shanghai Ranking Consultancy. Upholding the philosophy of "respecting individual growth and fostering engineering competence and vision," the major features the following:
1) Implementing a full-cycle mentorship system and an insistence on integrating research and teaching by bringing research prototypes and engineering project outcomes into the classroom.
2) Implementing Project Based Learning (PBL) that promotes cross-course collaboration to enhance students' understanding of instrumentation technologies, and their practical innovation skills.
3) A multi-party guidance mechanism involving academic mentors, class tutors, and industry experts to support students in career and academic planning.

Teaching Resources
For teaching, research, and talent cultivation, the major is supported by the Instrument Science and Technology first-level discipline and key platforms such as the Ministry of Education's Engineering Research Center for Intelligent Perception and Autonomous Control, the Beijing Institute of Artificial Intelligence, and the Beijing Engineering Research Center for Precision Measurement and Control Technology and Instruments. The major is closely aligned with the capital's high-end instrumentation and sensor industry and focuses on two specialized areas: "nondestructive testing" and "testing devices & automation," aiming to cultivate high-caliber, innovative engineering talent.
