National First-Class Undergraduate Major
Distinctive Features of the Program
Guided by the educational philosophy of "learning in the classroom, researching in society, and rooting values in local contexts," the program adheres to the principles for cultivating first-class talent— "broad knowledge, solid foundations, strong competence, and high quality". It is dedicated to preparing high-caliber, interdisciplinary innovators who can meet the socioeconomic development needs of both the nation and the capital.
As one of the first programs recognized as a National First-class Undergraduate Major, the Sociology program adopts a personalized training model centered on the undergraduate mentorship system. Leveraging Beijing's key academic disciplines, philosophy and social science research bases, as well as collaborative practice and internship platforms across the capital region, the program has built an integrated "government-industry-academia-research-application" system that combines on-campus and off-campus resources. This system provides students with comprehensive academic support and holistic growth opportunities, ensuring a steady contribution of high-quality graduates to both Beijing and the nation.
