Cultivation Characteristics

The major is oriented toward technology-intensive and advanced manufacturing industries in China, with a focus on the talent demands of the intelligent manufacturing sector in the integrated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. It aims to cultivate high-quality, innovative talent who uphold the core socialist values and possess a solid foundation in natural sciences as well as the humanities and social sciences, along with core professional knowledge and practical engineering skills in areas such as modern mechanical design and manufacturing, electromechanical control, and testing. Graduates will be equipped to engage in mechanical design and manufacturing, operations and maintenance integration, and technology development, and will develop a broad international perspective and their interdisciplinary engineering capabilities.

In 2017, the major was selected as one of the first Beijing municipal first-class undergraduate major construction sites, and in 2019, as one of the first national first-class undergraduate major construction sites.

Teaching Resources

The college serves as a vice-chair unit of the Mechanical Education Union of Excellent Engineers and is part of the international mutual recognition framework under the Washington Accord. It has two national-level teaching teams, one national virtual simulation teaching project service team, one national model course for ideological and political education, and ten national and municipal-level quality courses. The college is authorized to confer Master’s and doctoral degrees in both academic and professional programs under the first-level discipline of Mechanical Engineering.
