On January 30, Ning Wang, member of Beijing Municipal Party Standing Committee and Secretary of Beijing Municipal Education Working Committee, together with Yuhui Liu, Deputy Secretary of Beijing Municipal Education Working Committee and the Director of Beijing Municipal Education Commission, visited BJUT to inspect the COVID-19 prevention and control work. Hui Xie, Secretary of CPC BJUT Committee, Gonghui Liu, Deputy Secretary of CPC BJUT Committee and President, Qianfan Shen, Deputy Secretary of CPC BJUT Committee, Jianping Liu and Fu Guo, Vice Presidents, accompanied throughout the inspection visit.

Wang first visited Meishiyua Canteen and Olympic Canteen to inspect the management of dining rooms, student supermarket, the One-Card-Pass system, food safety and supermarket material support.

Wang then visited International Student Dormitory to check staff duty records, access management, student temperature tests and asked about the students currently in and due to return soon to Beijing. Wang stated that Beijing Municipal Government attaches great importance to epidemic prevention and control of universities and colleges in Beijing and hopes that BJUT would keep up with the unified arrangement and carry out effective prevention measures, especially in personnel control and safety inspection.

Wang visited the No.8 student dormitory building which is the centralized residential health observation dormitory. He checked carefully the room conditions, sanitation and disinfection of public area, and the support of living materials. He acknowledged BJUT’s work on epidemic prevention and control and emphasized the work concerning health observation of teachers and students due to return to Beijing, preventing epidemic transmission, and the health and safety of all the faculty, staff, and students.

Hui Xie and Gonghui Liu emphasized the great importance that BJUT attaches to the prevention and control of epidemic. They introduced to Wang that BJUT has established a Leading Group for Coronavirus Prevention and Control (LGCPC) and several work groups. Currently, the leadership of university and the directors of departments are working all day and strictly implementing the responsibilities and refining working measures to resolutely fight the battle of epidemic prevention and control.
