· President Nie Zuoren Leads a Delegation in Visiting Irish Partner Universities

From December 16th to 20th, President Nie Zuoren of Beijing University of Technology (BJUT) led a delegation on an intercollegiate visit to University College Dublin and Technological University Dublin in Ireland.

The delegation engaged in a formal meeting with Orla Feely, President of University College Dublin, and convened 2023 Annual Meeting of the Joint Management Committee of the Beijing-Dublin International College. Discussions included joint Ph.D. training, and the development of the Sino-Irish Alliance of Joint Education.

In addition, a carbon neutrality-themed seminar was held, where President Nie shared insights from China and BJUT's approaches and actions. The seminar focused on green materials, urban renewal, and sustainable development, leading to preliminary agreements on potential research and academic collaborations towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

The delegation met with David Fitzpatrick, President of Technological University Dublin and toured around relevant faculties and departments. At the meeting, the two sides had in-depth discussions and signed an undergraduate student exchange, with consensus reached in talent cultivation, academic exchanges, and research collaboration.

During the visit, the delegation also met BJUT students on exchange at University College Dublin, and BJUT alumni in Ireland.
