· Nicholas Houston, Foreign Faculty from Faculty of Science, BJUT Published a Research Paper on Physical Review Letters

As the sole corresponding author, Nicholas Houston, a young British teacher from the Faculty of Science, Beijing University of Technology (BJUT), published a paper entitled Searching for Solar Axions Using Data from the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory in the internationally renowned physics journal Physical Review Letters. The research results are of positive significance in neutrino astronomy and axon detection, which have reached the international advanced level in the field of axon research, and strongly promoted the development of this discipline.

Nicholas Houston, Master from Cambridge University and Ph.D. from King’s College London, previously worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Theoretical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Peking University. Since joining BJUT in the fall semester 2019, he has been engaged in teaching and research work in the Faculty of Science and also undertaken teaching tasks for some professional courses at the Beijing-Dublin International College.

In 2020, the number of foreign faculty in BJUT reached more than 100. In the future, BJUT will further increase its efforts to introduce high-level foreign teachers into the university for full-time and long-term work, continuously improve the overall quality of the international faculty to improve the quality of international talent training and enhance the international influence of the university. This is a firm effort to promote BJUT’s pursuit of building into a world-class university.
