Beijing Future Network Technology High-innovation Center Held the Academic Forum on Big Data and High Performance Computing

On March 23rd, Beijing Future Network Technology High-innovation Center held the academic forum on big data and high performance computing, with Asoke Nandi from the Department of Electronic and Computer Engineering of Brunel University and Prof. Li Maozhen.

Asoke Nandi, the academician of British Royal Academy of Engineering, member of 7 Associations and outstanding professor of Finland FiDiPro plan. Prof. Li Maozhen is the member of British Computer Society.

During the forum, Prof. Nandi made an academic report on Signal Processing: from Particles to Genes and fMRI, introducing the signal disposal and brain signal disposal applied in genome. Focusing on this area, he tried to express data through microarray genes and to create gene expression by the way of gene clustering.

Prof. Li Maozhen made an academic report on High Performance Computing for Big Data Analytics, introducing the high performance computing analysis method based on cloud computing platform and raising examples on the improved reliability and effectiveness of smart grid by using big data disposal. Prof. Li had a fine sense of humor. He walked into faculties and shares his knowledge and understanding with them.

This forum was presided over by Mr. Yao Haipeng, the Director of Science and Technology Department in this center. Mr. Lin Shaofu, the deputy dean of Department of Science and Technology Development in BJUT, delivered a speech in the end of this forum. Attracting nearly 100 attendees of faculties and students, this forum was full of novel ideas. Attendees actively participated in the discussion.

Before the forum, Prof. Jiang Yijian and Prof. Nie Zuoren, two vice presidents of BJUT, received and extended their warm welcome to Prof. Nandi and Prof. Li.

Later, Prof. Nandi and Prof. Li introduced their research achievements and progress. They also expressed their willing to strengthen the academic communication with BJUT as well as their welcome for BJUT students to learning in British and other European countries.
