Hosted by Beijing Education Committee and organized by Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, the 5th Beijing Building Structure Design Contest of College Students was carried out on May 21^st in Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture (Daxing Campus). Students from the Department of Architecture and Environment of BJUT Pilot College took part in Group A with the project of Wind Power Transmission Tower and Group B with the project of the Architectural Structure. In Group A, the theme was connected with National Architectural Design Contest for College Students. Bamboo wood material was required to construct the Wind Power Transmission Tower and light weight and high strength was adopted as the criteria for the loading test. In Group B, the theme was the design of Bengbu Gymnasium. BJUT students achieved 2^nd Prizes in both Group A and Group B.
