On May 21st 2016, “Danfoss Cup”the 10th Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Technology Competition for College Students(Beijing)was held in Teaching Building 3 at BJUT. This competition was sponsored by China Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Industry Association and Danfoss China, and undertaken by BJUT. Over 200 students and tutors from 8 universities in Beijing, majoring in energy and power engineering, new energy science and engineering and building environment and energy engineering, gathered here for this event.
At the beginning of the competition, Chen Jingliang, Under-Secretary-General of China Refrigeration and Air-conditioning Industry Association, Zhou Dasen, former president of BJUT, and Che Wei, Vice President of Danfoss, delivered their opening speeches. They all stressed the importance of innovation in their speeches and also affirmed that the competition enabled students to practice and improve their innovation ability.
The winning team of this competition will represent Beijing in the “Gree Cup” the 10th Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Technology Competition for College Students(North China). Therefore, this competition was very fierce. About 40 teams from 8 universities including Tsinghua University, BJUT, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Beijing Jiaotong University, Beijing University of architecture, North China University of Technology, Beijing Union University came to the stage and introduced their works to the judges in turn. The experts evaluated the works of students and gave them a lot of guidance in theory. They also offered students encouragement and advice based on the commercial operation and actual application of these works.
During the period of scoring statistics, Danfoss also organized oral speeches and interesting interactive communication activities for the students. Che Wei, the vice president of Danfoss China, described the blueprint of Chinese refrigeration industry’s development and the prospects of related professions around the topic of “The thirteenth Five-Year” Plan of China, Danish green development “Modern Energy Fairy Tale” and building energy efficiency development, which aroused strong interest from the teachers and students.
Finally, the two teams respectively from BJUT and Tsinghua University won the first prize. They will advance to the North China Final together with the other sixteen winning teams.
