Teams from BJUT Won Two First Prizes For Groups of the 9th National Undergraduate Mapping and Modeling Contest

Mechanical Team and Architectural Team of BJUT won two first prizes

for groups of the 9th Higher Education Cup National Undergraduate Advanced Mapping Technology and Product Information Modeling Contest from August 23 to August 26, 2016, held by the Shandong University of Technology.

The College of Mechanical Engineering and Applied Electronics Technology Organized two teams, which are the Mechanical Team and the Architectural Team composed of 18 students. They took part in the closed contest. Facing the intense competition of modeling and mapping, both teams gained the award for group. Mechanical Team continued to be the champion.  Zhang Chenghao, Zhu Guoqing, Wang Ziyao, Cao Zirui, Niu Xuedi, Liang Binyan, Sun Ruoshui, and Wang Zhiju, who are from the College of Mechanical Engineering and Applied Electronics Technology in BJUT, won the Individual All-Round First Prize respectively.  Zhang Xianlian won the Individual All-Round Second Prize.  Chen Huiming, Ma Dongliang, Huang Zhiqiang, Wu Shang, Liu Yilin who are from The College of Architecture and Civil Engineering in BJUT won the Individual First Prize respectively. Xu Zexin and Wei Pin from The College of Architecture and Civil Engineering in BJUT, Chi Xinyu from The Pilot College of BJUT and Wang Jinghua from College of Transportation in BJUT won the Individual Second Prize respectively. Wang Jianhua and Huangfu Ping, who are teachers from College of Mechanical Engineering and Applied Electronics Technology in BJUT won the First Prize of Excellent Instructors.

In the new open innovation competition, “Multi-Functional Automatic Wheelchair” won the first prize of Haier M-Lab Cup Design Competition. Designed by Yuan Hao, Qiao Renlu, Yang Yanyan from College of Architecture and Urban Planning and Jia Yanqi, Li Ran from College of Architecture and Civil Engineering, “Light City” won the first prize of open creative competition (Architecture). “Dongtang Hotel in the Wangfujing Street, Beijing” designed by Lu Zezi, Zhu Renjie, Sheng yulan from The College of Architecture and Urban Planning and Li Xuanye, Wu Peihua from The College of Architecture and Civil Engineering won the second prize.

The contest is sponsored by the National Engineering Graphics Teaching Advisory Board under the Ministry of Education, the Graphics Board under the China Graphics Society and the China Engineering Graphics Society Product Information Modeling Board. The 9th contest started across the country from April this year. Apart from the previous competition and forms, some new contests were opened, such as Haier M-Lab Cup Design Competition, Nuoxin Cup Industrial Product Design Competition and other open innovation competitions in architecture, road and bridge, water engineering. About 400 colleges and universities nationwide proactively took part in the contest, including Harbin Institute of Technology, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Northwestern Polytechnical University and Chongqing University.

The Eight-year competition experience proves it a great platform to cultivate the practical abilities of outstanding engineers. With the support of the Academic Affairs Office and the College of Mechanical Engineering and Applied Electronics Technology, more and more students have participated in the contest and benefited from it. Through the national contest, our students showed their good competence and boosted the university’s social visibility.
