Professor Bettina Gransow from Freie Universitat Berlin Visited Editorial Office of BJUT Journal

Professor Bettina Gransow from the Freie Universitat Berlin who is a well-known China-Study expert and sociologist, paid a visit to the Editorial Office of BJUT Journal under the invitation in the afternoon of Sept. 6, 2016 also joined the symposium.

During the symposium, Dr Song Guokai, the director of the Editorial Office, introduced the development of BJUT Journal. After that around the topic of “the Belt and Road” and “Urbanization”, Professor Bettina Gransow held a discussion with editors and some postgraduates of sociology in BJUT. Then she offered an unique perspective of how western people view “the Belt and Road” and “Urbanization”. Professor Bettina Gransow also made some suggestions about the development of BJUT Journal and showed her support and willingness of making a contribution to the improvement of the Journal’s international recognition.

Professor Bettina Gransow used to be the Dean of the International Consulting Department (Beijing) of the Asian Development Bank. In her early years, she did some researches in the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and Asian Study Center of the University of Hong Kong. In 2012, she was in BJUT when she participated in the 5th International Forum of Contemporary China Studies, co-organized by Chinese Sociological Association, the Beijing University of Technology and the University of Nottingham.

Before the symposium, Professor Bettina Gransow visited Editorial Office of BJUT Journal with great interest.
