A series of activities of the celebration of the National Science Day of China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) and the Launch of the China-Germany Itinerant Exhibition on “Environment, Conflict and Cooperation” were held in BJUT on Sept. 18, 2016.
Sponsored by Chinese Society for Sustainable Development (CSSD) and Germany Adelphi Research Institute, the China-Germany Itinerant Exhibition on “Environment, Conflict and Cooperation” is a public-beneficial popular science modularity exhibition, aiming at visually demonstrating the increasing negative influence of global environmental changes on human beings. These changes, along with human booming resource needs, unsustainable management methods and environmental pollution, will seriously imperil the ecological system, human health and the sustainable development of society and the economy.
Mr Alexander, Director of Adelphi Research Institute, delivered an excellent address. He analyzed the impact of environment on society by giving some reality examples and gave his advice and hopes for the expecting sustainable development. Students who attended the meeting also consulted Mr Alexander about the environmental problems they concerned.
This exhibition is sponsored by the China Society for Sustainable Development (CSSD), Germany Adelphi Research Institute and China Society for Corrosion and Protection (CSCP) and carried out by BJUT. Mr Wang Xiuyi, councilor of CSSD and secretary of the Party Committee of Science and Technology Daily in the Ministry of Science and Technology, Professor Chen Guangzhang, Honorary President of the CSCP and President of Corporate Council, and Professor Sun Zhirong, the Vice Executive Chairman of BJUT Labor Union delivered speeches respectively and visited the exhibition.
