On October21, International Symposium on “How to Nurture Talents of Innovation and Entrepreneurship under Globalization” was held in the International Exchange Center of BJUT. Heads of universities and experts from home and aboard attended this meeting. They were from University College Dublin, Ireland, Athlone Institute of Technology, Ireland, EFREI, France, National University of Science and Technology, Pakistan, Stuttgart University of applied Sciences, Germany, Opole University of Technology, Poland, University of New Brunswick, Canada, University of Tampere, Finland, Tohoku University, Japan, Ryerson University, Canada, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, China, Oulu University of Applied Sciences, Finland, Hanze University of Applied Sciences,Netherlandsand Beijing University of Technology.

Professor Zheng Jichun, Chairman of University Council of BJUT gave the opening speech. On behalf of the university, he expressed a warm welcome to the guests and gavecongratulations to the organizers of the symposium. Focusing on “how to nurture talents of innovation and entrepreneurship”, representatives from 8 universities and institutes worldwide made excellent keynote speeches. Later during the panel discussion, participants discussed with great enthusiasm about issues as to how to create an innovative environment and reforms for talent nurture, etc. They all shared their experience and results in improving students’ competence of innovation and entrepreneurship.

President Liu Gonghui gave his concluding remarks. First of all, he expressed gratitude on behalf of the university to the guestsfor their sharing of educational experience and their suggestions about the development of international higher education. Then he said that he sincerely welcome all guests to continue to join in future symposiums organized by BJUT and support BJUT’s reform and development.

During the symposium, Shen Qianfan, Vice-chairman of University Council of BJUT opened the new English website of BJUT. The new website is aimed at providing an informative platform through which partner universities, institutes and friends from all over the world could know more about BJUT and better. This website emphasized to present spontaneously the university’s latest results in R&D, talent nurturing, social service and international exchanges and cooperation.

In addition, representatives of schools and offices, winners of international scientific and research grants, winners of program of nurturing the internationalization competence of young supervisors and teachers were presented within the symposium.
