Recently,the 4^th International Conference on Protective Structures (ICPS) was held in Beijing University of Technology (BJUT), sponsored by the International Association of Protective Structures (IAPS) and organized by BJUT, Tianjin University and Tianjin Chengjian University. Nearly 130 scholars and experts from 20 countries, including China, United States, British, German, Israel, Japan, Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, Egypt and etc., attended this conference.

During the conference, Professor Jim Davidson from Auburn University, US, Professor A. Ghani Razaqpur from McMaster University, Canada, Professor David Yankelevsky from Israel Institute of Technology, Professor Mark G. Stewart from Newcastle University, Australia, Professor Werner Riedel from Ernst-Mach-Institute, German and Professor Li Guoqiang from Tongji University gave wonderful speeches. Later, participants held an extensive and in-depth discussion about the R&D ofanti-explosion and anti-impact structure.

This conference played a positive role in promoting the research development and achievement in commercialization as well as building an extensive international cooperation in this field. ICPS is one of the most influential conferences on structure protection. Organizing and holding this conference also enhance the international influence of BJUT.

The next ICPS will be held in Poznan, Poland in 2018.
