In recent years, BJUT has strengthened its strategic cooperation with Xilinx, a top US tech company. The university and the company have worked together to build the Xilinx-BJUT Embedded System Engineering Practice Education Center and the teaching reform of the embedded system. They both provide strong software and hardware supports for the construction of “Xilinx-BJUT Talent Training Model Innovative Experimental Area” and a good university-company educational ecosystem for the all-round development of Embedded System students of the Remarkable Engineers Project.

In order to enable students to learn the market-oriented mainstream technologies and get accustomed to the domestic and international corporate cultures, each year professors from UK, USA, Australia and experts from Xilinx are invited to give lectures in BJUT. Thanks to this teaching method, the frontier spirit, expertise and practical skills of students have been greatly improved along with their English.

When they enter their junior year, the Remarkable Engineers Project Students will obtain two boards, ARM development board and FPGA development board. These two pocket-sized boards are perfectly formed. One can try their ideas outside the classroom anytime anywhere, just like having “a lab in pocket”.

Over the years, BJUT, striving to educate more students to be remarkable engineers, encouraged students to participate in various competitions. The Openhw Competition, sponsored by The Xilinx Company and many universities is an important event. BJUT students compete with students from Peking University, Tsinghua University and other competitors from Taiwan and Singapore in this competition, and their innovative ability could be improved.

The 3^rd Openhw competition was held at BJUT. Hosting this competition enhanced th^rd prize this year.

It is believed that with the participation in a higher level of competition on a larger platform BJUT students will achieve more in the future.
