Republic of Ireland Ambassador and Irish Education Department Visit BJUT

On October 22, Mary Doyle, Deputy Secretary of Department of education and skills, Paul Kavanagh, Irish ambassador to China and 8 other representatives visited BJUT. Zhao Huimin, Director of Foreign Affairs Office of Beijing Municipal People’s Government, Huang Kan, Deputy Chairman of Beijing Municipal Education Commission went to BJUT to meet these guests and attended the report of academic management. During the meeting, President Liu Gonghui presented the latest developments of BJUT and academic management of Beijing-Dublin International College at BJUT. Vice President Wu Bing chaired the meeting.

Mary Doyle expressed her appreciation that BJUT has been playing an important role in the communication between China and Ireland and fully affirmed the achievement of Beijing-Dublin International College.

Paul Kavanagh stated that Irish government would attach great importance to cooperation in higher education. He hoped to deepen this cooperation and support would be provided continuously from Irish government.

Huang Kan and Zhao Huimin gave their affirmation for BJUT in promoting internationalization. Support and service of cooperation with Ireland would be provided continuously by Beijing Municipal People’s Government.

After the talks, Mary Doyle and Paul Kavanagh observed Gaelic football class followed by a discussion with professors and students in Beijing-Dublin International College.
