1st National Young Scientists and Engineers Forum on Infrastructure Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Held in BJUT

On 12th November, financially supported by the Major Structure Aseismatic and Shock Absorbing Control Innovative Group from College of Architecture and Civil Engineering, the 1st National Young Scientists and Engineers Forum on Infrastructure Disaster Prevention and Mitigation was held in BJUT. This conference was sponsored by International Society of Lifeline and Infrastructure Earthquake Engineering and National Natural Foundation of China and organized by Institute of Geophysics, China Earthquake Administration and BJUT.

Presented were nearly 60 young scientists and engineers from 20 colleges, universities and research institutions, including Tongji University, Tsinghua University, Harbin Institute of Technology, PLA University of Science and Technology, Beijing Jiaotong University, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Tianjin Chengjian University and etc.

During the forum, young participants held an extensive and deep-going discussion on their progress and discoveries in the field of infrastructure disaster prevention and mitigation.

In order to develop the research on disaster prevention and mitigation in a multidisciplinary background, this conference attempts to build a platform where young scientists and engineers, through academic interaction, can improve their abilities in innovation and research, enhance their academic contact and obtain more opportunities for cooperation.

The next conference will be in Nanjing in 2017.
