Recently, A notice of Records & Results about Undergraduate Majors in Higher Learning Institutions in 2016 was released by Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. BJUT was approved to establish 3 new undergraduate majors: Statistics (Discipline Code 071201), Sculpture (Discipline Code 130403) and Media Design (Discipline Code130508).

With the approval of the 3 new majors, the number of undergraduate majors reached 62 in total in BJUT, including engineering, science, management，economy, art &design, arts and law in total 7 disciplines.

In order to keep step with the construction of Beijing and collaborative development between Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province, BJUT should adjust discipline structure dynamically and build preponderant majors actively, sensibly control enrollment  and strengthen the talent cultivation for development of the capital .

For the next stage, BJUT will continue to serve collaborative development between Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province, strengthen advantages of science & engineering, enrich the characteristics of humanities & social science and build more unique specialties. Driven by the integration of different disciplines and optimization of major structures, BJUT will emphasize the quality of talents training.
