Since 2014, BJUT’s disciplines of materials, engineering and chemistry have been listed in the Top 1% of the ESI International Ranking. In 2017, 8 disciplines of BJUT, namely, computer science & information systems, civil & structural engineering, electrical & electronic engineering, mechanical, aeronautical & manufacturing engineering, physics, mathematics, materials and chemistry have entered the top 400 of the QS World University Rankings by Subject.

560 related disciplines in 74 universities in mainland China have entered the world top 500. Compared with last year, the number of subjects increased by 39% and universities by 30%. In terms of the number of selected subjects, BJUT ranks 7^th in Beijing while 25^th in mainland China.
