Recently, a performance appraisal of Beijing Key laboratory and Engineering Research Center was released by Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission. 4 scientific bases in BJUT participated in the performance appraisal and passed, two of which were Beijing Key Laboratory for Regional Air Pollution Control and Beijing Engineering Research Center for High and Large Span Pre-stressed Steel Structure judged excellent. The other two were Beijing Key Laboratory for Computational Intelligence & Intelligent System and Beijing Key Laboratory for Nonlinear Vibration and Strength of Mechanical Structures judged good.

In September 2016, Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission appraised the performance of Beijing Key laboratory and Engineering Research Center, which were recognized in 2012. Performance Appraisal consists of self-appraisal, scientific appraisal, conference appraisal and field evaluation. Among 135 Beijing Key laboratories and Engineering Research Centers, only 20 of them were judged excellent, with total excellent rate being 14.9%.

Since the year 2010, 17 Beijing Key laboratories and Engineering Research Centers in BJUT have been recognized by Beijing Municipal Science & Technology Commission. They have become a significant platform for scientific research, contributing greatly to scientific innovation, discipline construction and talent cultivation.
