On May 5, Professor Xie Hui’s nomination as the Secretary of the Party Committee of Beijing University of Technology was announced at the Science Building of BJUT. The former Secretary Mr. Zheng Jichun was relieved of his duty and transferred to the Beijing Municipal Committee of Education.

Secretary Xie thanked Beijing Municipal Committee of the Chinese Communist Party and BJUT for their trust, and expressed his full commitment to BJUT’s future development.

On behalf of all the faculty and students of BJUT, President Liu Gonghui welcomed Secretary Xie. He further illustrated that with the system of President accountability under the leadership of the party committee, BJUT will surely make advancement in the future.

Participants of the meeting include:  University leaders, members of Party committee, commission for Discipline Inspection, all directors of colleges and institutes, representatives from academic board, staff union as well congress of teaching and administrative staff, Deputies to the Municipal People’s Congress, member of the CPPCC(Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference) and Heads of Democratic Parties.
