Former Minster of China’s Ministry of Aerospace Industry Mr. Lin Zongtang Visited BJUT’s 3D Printing Center

On May 9, a delegation led by former minister of China’s Ministry of Aerospace Industry, Mr. Lin Zongtang, visited BJUT’s 3D printing center. As a pioneer of China’s Additive Manufacturing/3D printing technology, Mr. Lin has long been exploring the usage of 3D printing in Aerospace and other military fields.

Professor Liu Gonggui, President of BJUT welcomed Mr. Lin Zongtang, introduced BJUT and highlighted the development of its 3D printing center.

Mr. Lin asked for the overall construction and the subject development of the 3D printing center, and listened to the report on “Application and progress of laser selective melting (SLM) technology” and held an in-depth discussion with researchers afterwards. Mr. Lin expressed firm support for the center’s innovative achievement in metal 3D printing and SLM technology. He also encouraged BJUT to seek international and domestic cooperation opportunities and contribute to China’s 3D printing technology development.
