On August 8, ShakilDurrani, Executive Director of Society for the Promotion of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Ata urRahman, Scientific Counselor of Pakistan Embassy in China, Jehangir Bashar,Presidentof GhulamIshaq Khan Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, and anotherone people visited Beijing University of Technology, accompanied by the relevant persons in chargeof Beijing Association for Science and Technology and Beijing Science and Technology Consulting Center. The Vice President QiaoJunfei met with the delegation on behalf of the school, accompanied bythe heads of relevant departments such as International Exchange and Cooperation Office, Office of Science and Technology Development, the International College and the Departmentof Informatics.
The Vice President QiaoJunfei extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He introduced the basic situation of Beijing University of Technology, the status of international exchanges and cooperation, the latest situation of the school’s “World-class Universities and World-class Disciplines” construction and preponderant disciplines. He said that Beijing University of Technology is willing to further strengthen international exchanges and cooperation with countries and regions along the “Belt and Road” including Pakistan, deepen the partnership, and carry out practical cooperation such as two-way exchange of students, mutual visits of teachers and scientific research exchanges. There are many similarities in the subject setting and professional fields, which lays a good foundation for in-depth cooperation.
The Executive Director ShakilDurraniexpressed his gratitude for the warm reception of Beijing University of Technology. He introduced the basic situation of Society for the Promotion of Engineering Sciences and Technology and stated that he has attached great importance to and hopes to strengthen international cooperation with Chinese universities when formulating new international cooperation strategies.
The President Jehangir Basharintroduced the basic situation,preponderant disciplines and teaching facilities of GhulamIshaq Khan Institute of Engineering Science and Technology. He expressed his expectation to establish multi-level cooperation with Beijing University of Technology and strengthen talent cultivation and scientific research cooperationof a new generation in the fields of information technology, environmental engineering, civil engineering and mechanical engineering through such forms as the establishment of joint research center.
After the meeting, the delegation visited the Robots, Artificial Intelligence and Automation Laboratory of the Department of Informatics.
