On September 26, Vice Rector TeofilJesionowski of Poznan University of Technology (PUT) in Poland and two delegates visited Beijing University of Technology (BJUT). Vice President Wu Bin met with the delegation on behalf of BJUT. Heads of the International Office, College of Economics and Management and College of Art and Design also attended the meeting.
Vice President Wu Bin gave a general account of BJUT and its international development strategy. He placed special stress on BJUT’s progress as a Double First-Class Disciplines University and preparations for the “Belt and Road” Art & Design Competition. He said that the two universities were similar in development strategy and disciplines. Therefore, he hoped that the two universities would further improve the depth and scope of cooperation, and enhance teacher exchanges and collaborative research on the basis of extensive student exchanges.
Vice Rector TeofilJesionowski briefly introduced the advanced disciplines, features and international cooperation of PUT. He noted that BJUT was in the front rank of Chinese universities in terms of research level and comprehensive strength. PUT hopes to carry out multi-level exchange and cooperation with BJUT in environmental chemistry, architectural design, and economics and management. He sincerely invited BJUT to the 100th anniversary celebration of PUT, in order to enhance mutual understanding and cooperation, and further improve the scope and depth of the partnership.
During the visit, the delegation visited the College of Economics and Management, College of Art and Design, and College of Environmental and Energy Engineering, held discussions with teachers and students, and exchanged ideas on the details of college-level cooperation. The delegation also visited the Exhibition Hall of Sino-Polish University Consortium Art & Design Competition under the “Belt and Road” to learn about preparations for the event. Last but not least, the delegation gave a presentation to over 100 BJUT students on student exchange and study abroad programs with PUT.
Founded in 1919, Poznan University of Technology is a comprehensive public university with a focus on science and engineering. There are 20,000 students and 1,200 teaching and administrative staff in PUT.
