The student dance troupe’s dance “Scholar dancing with paper fan” presented the audience with an elegant, powerful and entertaining scene through the rich changes of paper fans. The melodious oriental song “Unforgettable jasmine flower” is in harmony with the western classic song “City of Stars”, just like the “Belt and Road”initiative which  connects east and west while promoting cultural integration.

The song of “Little stream”, with the theme of “curved little stream with bluish waves, cloud-like water under gentle moonlight”, created a poetic and remote artistic conception with a free rhythm and circle-round melody. The dance of “Silk road”, performed by the dance troupe of Beijing Institute of Petrochemical Technology, combined the story of the Silk Road with international  ballroom dancing and raised new ideas. A piece of “Yi ethnic dance music”, performed by the Student Folk Troupe, allowed the audience to become immersed in the charming Yi village night along with the melodious tune of the Chinese Lute and Zither.

A popular and representative folk song of Northern Shaanxi “Driving Livestock” was performed by the student chorus, interpreting the simple and heroic customs of Northern Shaanxi. Dance performances by the student dance troupe and international students included “fragrance of ghee”, “south of the cloud”, “Tage” and “plates dance.” These performances displayed the unique charm of traditional Chinese dance and the everlasting and changeless feelings experienced therein.

The student symphony orchestra string quartet performed “Mozart string serenade k525”, and the continuous vigorous melody was greatly appreciated by the audience. Calligraphy arose out of the thousand-year cultural tradition of China, while martial arts has engendered the heroic posture of Chinese people for generations. “Beautiful calligraphy and excellent martial arts”, performed by international students, skillfully combined calligraphy and martial arts , presenting a different Chinese style on stage. Dong Ning’s solo song “Me and My motherland” allowed the audience to enjoy the high mountains and long rivers of China and reflect on  the song dynasty. The traditional Chinese cultural aesthetic is embodied in Peking and Huangmei Opera, both of which have joined of the world drama culture.

In the gentle and lyrical music section, the student dance troupe performed the dance “The red oiled paper umbrella”. The group used a red oiled paper umbrella to outline a cultural road across ancient and modern times. Before the end of the art show, the student chorus brought to the audience the “en tus ojos vive el mar” from the “Habaneras & Polyphony” Chorus festival of Spain. Accompanied by the song “Friendship Forever”, the art show ended in a harmonious and beautiful atmosphere.

Through the ages, culture has accumulated, and time has cultivated immortal classics. Through the integration of Chinese and western culture, art advances in its development and the classics glow with new splendor. The combination of Chinese and Western cultures not only makes an audience feel the charm of art, but also further enhances the understanding of cultural diversity under the “Belt and Road” initiative.
