On December 6, Teofil Jesionowski, Vice President of Poznan University of Technology, let a six person delegation to Beijing University of Technology and they were met by Wu Bin, Vice President of BJUT. Relevant heads from the International Exchange and Cooperation Department and College of International Education also attended.
Vice President Wu warmly welcomed the delegation. He reviewed the achievements made by the two universities in student and academic exchange, scientific research cooperation and the joint hosting of the first Sino-Polish University Consortium Art Festival and Art & Design Competition. He then introduced the idea of holding the first “Belt and Road” Sino-Polish University Consortium Academic Forum in BJUT and the second Consortium “Art and Design Competition” in Poland in 2019, and invited Polish member universities to participate. He expressed the hope that the two universities, would further expand communication and deepen exchange and cooperation.
Vice President Jesionowski expressed his gratitude to BJUT for its warm reception. He said that the two universities had achieved much in student exchanges and scientific research cooperation. He expressed the hope that the two universities would agree to improve the level of scientific research cooperation and strengthen cooperation in such areas as post-doctoral joint training, student exchange programs, teacher lecturing and joint applications for scientific research projects. Poznan University of Technology will actively undertake and host important activities of the Sino-Polish University Consortium, and promote in-depth exchanges and cooperation between Consortium members.
Poznan University of Technology is located western Poland and was the medieval capital of the country. Founded in 1919, Poznan University of Technology is a comprehensive national university with science and engineering as the main subjects and is one of the best engineering universities in Poland. It has approximately 20,000 students and 1,200 faculty members and offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses in 10 departments. The university has joined the Erasmus Mundus-Scholarship programme. In 2019, the university was ranked among the worlds top 1000 universities according to the QS World University Rankings.
