On January 16, Arnaud Poitou, Director of Centrale Nantes, led a delegation to BJUT. Vice President Wu Bin met with the delegation along with representatives from the BJUT International Office and the College of International Education.
Vice President Wu pointed out that as a century-old world-famous institution, Centrale Nantes enjoyed unique advantages in teaching, research, and industrial projects. He gave a brief account of BJUT and its progress in respect of talent cultivation and the Double First-class University Plan. He expressed the hope that the two universities would carry out pragmatic multidimensional cooperation in joint talent cultivation and scientific research.
President Poitou emphaised that Centrale Nantes was among France’s top five engineering schools, and highlighted the initiatives and features of global talent cultivation. He expressed enthusiasm for carrying out a variety of exchange and cooperation programs with BJUT.
The two universities signed a memorandum of understanding and an agreement on joint programs. The agreement provides for BJUT students in specific programmes to study at Centrale Nantes in their final year while working on their BJUT graduation projects. After receiving a bachelor’s degree at BJUT, they will be admitted to Centrale Nantes’ advanced studies masters programmes, which are taught through English.
Centrale Nantes was founded in 1919 in Nantes, an important port city in western France. It is member of the prestigious Centrale Group and the Grande Ecoles. In 2018, Centrale Nantes ranked fifth among 100 elite engineering schools in France.
