A new academic year began in the clear and gentle autumn breeze. BJUT greeted over 6,500 new students on September 3. Registration commenced simultaneously at the Pingleyuan Campus and the Tongzhou Campus. Students including bachelors, masters and PhDsfrom all parts of the country arrived at BJUT for a new stage of life with their hearts filled with hopes and dreams.
At around 8am, Party Secretary Xie Hui, President Liu Gonghui, Vice President Wu Bin, Presidential Assistant Wang Pu, and heads of relevant departments visited the freshmen and their parents at the registration sites on the main campus and the Tongzhou campus. They listened to reports on admission, welcome events, and orientation from the persons in charge and sent regards to the teachers, students, and staff who were present to help new students.
To ensure smooth orientation for new students, all colleges/departments/institutes and relevant departments made preparations with passion and earnestness . They adopted student-friendly measures and precision management, allocated resources scientifically, and made concerted efforts. Signs were set up at main junctions at registration sites for new students. Volunteers attentively helped freshmen and their parents with their questions. Security guards were allocated to each section, passage, and venue to keep everything in good order. Besides, the university ran a “green channel” as usual to ensure the enrollment of students with financial difficulties.
BJUT welcomed these promising young students as the 70th birthday of the PRC approached. Wherever they are from, henceforth they belong to the BJUT community. It is not only an honor but also a responsibility. They have embarked on a new journey with diligence and intelligence. May they advance courageously to achieve their dreams.
