Two Students Chosen for the National Postdoctoral Program

The Office of the National Postdoctoral Management Committee has recently announced the beneficiary list of the 2020 National Postdoctoral Program for Talented Innovators. Dr. Li Jianwei from the Faculty of Environment & Life Sciences, and postdoctoral researcher Cheng Xiaowei from the Faculty of Urban Construction are included in the list. Over 3,000 people across the country had applied for this year’s “Postdoctoral Innovators”and finally 400 are selected. The first time that BJUT students were granted the honor was in 2018. Over the past 3 years, a total of 5 students have received the offer.

The National Postdoctoral Program for Talented Innovators was launched by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, and the National Postdoctoral Management Committee in 2016 to groom the most talented youth under theGuiding Opinions of the General Office of the State Council on Reforming and Improving the Postdoctoral System.The program supports 200 to 400 excellent postdoctoral researchers every year in order to speed up the training of more talented and innovative youth to work at the world’s technological frontier. It is a significant measure for our country to have more high-level, innovative, and best-qualified young scientists. The program is linked with national laboratories as well as other major scientific research centers. It focuses on national high-priority strategies, strategic high-tech, and basic science frontiers. Following the individual application, recommendations from the postdoctoral research agency, and reviews by experts, the program chooses fresh qualified doctors or doctors-to-be to fund their postdoctoral research work, taking efforts to accelerate the grooming of the world’s best innovators.
