On February 26, Xie Hui, Secretary of the CPC Committee of BJUT, and Nie Zuoren, President of BJUT inspected the university’s preparations for the coming 2021 spring semester.
Secretary Xie checked the implementation of pandemic prevention and control measures with in the campus, the affairs of students and teaching staff, the allocation of facilities and resources, and the campus security. He emphasized all departments should strictly apply the pandemic prevention and control policies of Beijing and be well-prepared for the new semester to provide a bette reducation environment.
President Nie stepped into the teaching buildings, canteens, library, and gymnasiums, and strengthened the need to further improve the layout and functions of the campus.
BJUT has been paying great attention to the organization and development of online teaching. In order to ensure and improve the teaching quality and performance of online classroom, Secretary Xie, President Nie, and Vice President Wu Bin attended online lectures through online platforms such as Tencent conference and Rixin Online Campus at 8 a.m. March 1, the first day of the 2021 spring semester.
The university leadership attended lectures in over 10 randomly-selected undergraduate courses, such as Higher Mathematics, Advanced English, Heat Treatment Technology and Equipment, Automobile Theory, Engineering Mechanics, and masters courses including Random Process, Artificial Intelligence, and Accounting Development, Aesthetics. Those courses covered 8 secondary teaching units.
In the first week of the new semester, 18 teaching units in BJUT would provide 1,354 online courses for undergraduates and master students by about 1,200 teachers. Teachers would also employed Wechat group, QQ group, and other self-run social groups to assist teaching.
