On April 14, the kick-off ceremony and special seminar of "Scientific Spirit and Academic Ethics" Publicity Month 2021 was held in BJUT.

Vice President Guo Fu said that the "Scientific Spirit and Academic Ethics" Publicity Month is a brand activity of BJUT, which is of great significance for optimizing the academic environment and strengthening the academic atmosphere of the university; He hoped that all faculty members and students of BJUT could carry forward the spirit of innovation, seek truth and maintain academic integrity in their scientific research.

Vice President Guo Fu presented books to graduate student representatives on behalf of BJUT, encouraging them to gain knowledge from books and consciously practice the scientific spirit and academic norms.

Zhao Tianlang, the executive chairman of the Graduate Students Union, on behalf of all graduate students, proposed that students promote and develop the spirit of BJUT, abide by the academic norms and follow the academic ethics.

After the launching ceremony, Sun Shibing, professor of the Faculty of Materials and Manufacturing, and Liu Youjun, Secretary-General of Academic Committee of BJUT, Deputy Director of Academic Ethics Committee and researcher of Faculty of Environment and Life, gave their special reports.

Professor Sun provided his guidance to students on how to achieve "self-growth" in the graduate stage based on his own experience in studying for the master's degree.

Researcher Liu introduced the BJUT Code of Academic Ethics (Trial) for students. He put forward a proposal on behalf of the Academic Committee of BJUT that all faculty members and students abide by the academic ethics and behavior standards and resolutely avoid academic misconduct.
