BJUT Saw New Achievements in Cultivating Top-notch Innovative Talents

BJUT’s efforts in cultivating top-notch innovative talents have yielded new fruits. The PhD thesis entitled "Design, Preparation and Application of High-performance, Low-loss Anti-resonant Hollow-core Micro-structured Optical Fiber" written by Gao Shoufei, a PhD student (class of 2015) in Optical Engineering in the Faculty of Materials and Manufacturing, was awarded the 2019 COS Excellent PhD Thesis in Optics (Supervisor: Prof. Wang Pu). The PhD thesis entitled "Study on the Mechanism of Catalytic Reaction and Poisoning of MnOx/TiO2 Catalyst for Low-temperature SCR of NOx" by Kui Lu, a PhD student (class of 2016) in Material Science and Engineering, was nominated for the 4th CCS Excellent PhD Thesis (Supervisor: Prof. Cui Suping). Moreover, Yang Lixue, a PhD student (class of 2017) in Optical Engineering, won the 17th Wang Daheng Optics Award for college students in 2020 (Supervisor: Researcher Yan Yinzhou).

BJUT’s Faculty of Materials and Manufacturing are authorized to confer doctoral degrees in five first-level disciplines. Of them, Optical Engineering and Materials Science and Engineering are both among the cutting-edge disciplines in Beijing Municipality and key disciplines at both national and municipal levels. Since it gained access to the market, the Faculty of Materials and Manufacturing has been focusing on the key areas in the country and working harder to cultivate top-notch innovative talents.
